The ends of this fitting will slide inside of 1" nominal size schedule 40 PVC pipe to join your pipe together. The end type is referred to as Pipe I.D. Spigot. The fitting acts as a sort of internal coupling that is best used in tight spaces where there is no room for an external coupling. What is the inner diameter of a 1” inside connector? I’d like to center a 1/2” steel pipe which I’m telescoping into an existing 1” pvc sched 40 pipe and want to know it the 1/2” steel pipe will fit nicely inside the inside connector. My purpose is to give the 1” pvc pipe more strength and stop it from bowing or sagging since I’m using it as a rail for a sliding door system.
