How much pressure does it take to open up or close? Plan to use in a free flow septic tank pipe flow. Will this work on a low-pressure flow?

This valve requires very little PSI to open the valve. It takes about 1PSI to open and can take up to 150PSI.

Does the valve inside get pushed up by water and fall back down when pressure stops? This is not spring loaded right?

Yes you are correct. It is not spring loaded, as it works by the pressure going through it.

We don’t have the specs on the cracking pressure, but it takes less than one PSI to open the valve. The issue is that it requires so little pressure to open the flap, it almost wants to hang open when it’s installed horizontally. Therefore, you would maybe worry about if your line coming back fills up too slow, is there enough pressure to seal the flap back? This is especially true if you’re using this in an extremely low pressure or zero-pressure application.
