Sch 40 PVC Bushings

When a piping system or structure made from PVC requires the connection of pipes of two different diameters, contractors can use fittings to accomplish this. Schedule 40 PVC bushings are one type of fitting that allows for this type of connection. These fittings are slightly different than couplings, although couplings can also connect two pipes of different sizes. Bushings, unlike couplings, tend to have threaded ends, although some models do have slip ends. This allows for a tight seal without the need to use an adhesive product. This works well in situations where the pipes may need to be removed or replaced regularly and flow or pipe size needs reduced.

Max temperature 140 F. Max pressure varies based on fitting size. Our schedule 40 bushings (excluding class 125) meet standards ASTM D-1784, ASTM D-2466/2467, NSF/ANSI 14 & 61.

All of the Schedule 40 PVC bushings (reducer styles) carried here offer the benefits of durable PVC. They are able to withstand corrosion, can handle the weight of people walking on them and are able to be used in both underground and underwater applications. Schedule 40 PVC can handle temperatures of 140 degrees or less, and they can also handle low to mid-range internal pressures. This works well for most residential applications, with the exception of hot water applications. These bushings are often seen in landscaping and aquaculture applications. PVC is preferred over metal for these type of applications, because it will not rust or be corroded by soil and water contaminants.

These Schedule 40 PVC bushings come in a range of diameters. Choose from opening diameters ranging from 1/2 inch to 12 inches, and end diameters from 1/4 inch to 8 inches. Both male and female threading is available for greater flexibly. In addition to these varying diameters, we carry flush style and Class 125 bushings. With this large variety of sizes and styles, contractors can easily find the size they need. The Schedule 40 PVC material means that these fittings will be an affordable solution when increasing or decreasing the diameter of the pipe in a system or construction project. Versatility, durability and affordability make these fittings a favorite choice for the right projects.
