Sch 80 CPVC Couplings
Schedule 80 CPVC pipe is used in applications for the movement of fluids. Connecting two lengths of pipe is accomplished through the use of couplings, which come in a range of sizes and configurations. Depending on the end design of the pipes being connected, different types of couplings are used. The two most common types are "S" and "FPT". "S" stands for socket, slip or spigot. These are used to connect pipes having no threads at the ends. "FPT" stands for female pipe thread. These types of couplings are used to connect pipes having male, threaded ends. For pipes ending in female threads, "MPT", or male pipe thread couplings must be employed.
Our schedule 80 CPVC fittings meet ASTM D1784 Standards and are NSF-14 Certified.

Couplings may be the same size diameter on both sides or may be different sizes, in which case they are considered reducing couplings. These are called for when connecting two pipes of differing diameters. Couplings may be straight, bent at 45 or 90 degree angles (elbows) or they may incorporate three openings (tees). Though normally S, FPT or MPT on both ends (S x S or FPT x FPT), ends may also be of dissimilar types (S x FPT).
