Schedule 40 PVC Pipe

When you need an affordable, durable pipe for a low-pressure situation, schedule 40 PVC pipe is the best solution. Suitable for temperatures up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, schedule 40 PVC pipe is commonly used in cold or warm water applications, such as landscaping, aquaculture and some home plumbing situations. Schedule 40 PVC can withstand a variety of maximum pressures depending on the size of the pipe, but they typically cannot withstand as much pressure as their schedule 80 counterparts. All of these schedule 40 pipes meet ASTM D1784 Standards and are NSF-14 Certified.

"Schedule 40" refers to the strength and thickness of theses pipes. Most schedule 40 PVC pipe can withstand pressures of up to 50 or 60 psi. This makes these pipes ideal for many applications around the home where sufficient strength is necessary, without the demands of high pressure applications. PVC resists corrosion from the elements and particles found in the soil, so it is often used in underground applications where metal pipes would not be a good fit.

In addition to being used to transport fluids, schedule 40 PVC pipe can also be used to build structures, including furniture, tent frames, toys and even tools. Its strength and lightweight material, as well as its ability to withstand extended exposure to the elements without bending or warping, make it ideal for these applications.

We offer schedule 40 PVC pipe in a range of diameters and lengths. Choose from small pipes with a 1/2-inch diameter to large 12-inch diameter pipes. We offer a range of lengths as well, including large 20-foot lengths by special order. Order the exact length you need, or order a longer piece and cut it to your precise specifications. Add a selection of schedule 40 PVC fittings to your order to create the system you need to perfectly fit your space.
