Metal Ball Valves

While PVC Fittings Online specializes in PVC products, there are times when metal is the preferred material for valves or pipe. For this reason, we offer brass and stainless steel ball valves in a range of sizes from 1/4 inch to 2 inches. Of the two, brass is the more affordable option, while stainless steel is the best choice in high pressure or high temperature applications. In addition to the valves listed below, we can get many other sizes and styles, so call for more information if we do not list what you need.

Ball valves have a fairly simple operation. Inside the valve is a small ball that rotates when the handle is turned. When the valve is in the "on" position, the ball rotates so that a hole inside the ball points in the same direction as the flow of the pipe. This allows the fluid to flow through the valve. When the valve is in the "off" position, that ball turns a quarter turn, so the hole is no longer lined up with the pipes. This effectively stops the flow and provides a watertight seal.

We stock "full port" metal ball valves. Full port valves have a larger hoe in the middle when compared to standard valves. Because the hole is the same diameter as the inner diameter of the pipe, there is very little, if any, flow restriction when using these valves. This is the preferred option for applications where consistent flow pressure is required. These valves have a blowout proof stem and threaded ends to quickly connect to the piping system. Other end options are available as well when needed, and for the affordable price you have come to expect from PVC Fittings Online.
