What is the inside diameter of both the threaded end and the slip end?

When you see a size associated with a fitting, it tells you what the fitting pairs with. Male threads pair with female threads of the same size; therefore, the 4" MPT side pairs with 4" FPT. The ID of the MPT side is about 3.75".

Socket means it goes OVER pipe of the same size, so the ID of the socket side will be the same as the OD of 4" pipe, which is 4.5".
