Does this fitting fit a 2" pvc pipe, or does it fit into a coupling, tee, etc? How can you determine which fits with what?

No fittings will fit into pipe, except pipe extenders. Spigot ends go into other fittings of the same size with socket ends. Socket ends fit over pipe of the same size. Also, when fittings have two end types and two sizes, the first size listed matches the first end type listed, so for this part...

The 2" end is spigot and will fit into another 2" fitting with a socket end
The 1-1/2" end is socket and will fit OVER pipe that is 1-1/2"
