This will not fit the green sewer drainage pipe. This is made to fit Schedule 40 white PVC pipe.

The term "socket" (abbreviated here as "soc") tells you that it fits over pipe. The associated with the fitting always tells you what it pairs with, not the size of the fitting itself. So, yes, it fits over the end of 8" PVC pipe.
