PVC Duct Butterfly Dampers

PVC butterfly dampers are used to block or allow flow of air or drainage in a PVC duct system. Duct is commonly used for venting, drainage, and corrosive fumes. Because of the corrosion and chemical resistant properties of PVC, it makes a desirable and lightweight duct product. Typical butterfly dampers can be open or closed automatically or manually when needed.

These unique fittings function almost like a valve. They are called butterfly dampers because the open and close style looks similar to a butterfly's wings. Usually this means two flaps bend open or closed to allow or block flow. Dampers can be used to block off or divert flow of air and fumes in a PVC duct system.

Our butterfly dampers come in many sizes from 2 inch all the way up to 24 inch in size. All have belled ends which allows for simple integration with the actual duct. PVC is a wise option for duct in cases where the application requires a lightweight, corrosion resistant and economical choice. PVC duct functions very similarly to traditional metal duct and is designed specifically for that purpose.

PVC duct has a much thinner wall in comparison with standard PVC pipe and fittings. For this reason duct should be used ONLY for non-pressurized applications like drainage, venting, and fumes. Duct also differs from standard PVC in that it is generally used in larger diameters to allow swift and efficient venting in industrial and institutional uses.
