PVC Duct Rain Caps

PVC duct systems are often used for venting purposes. Because of this, there usually must be an outside vent that allows escape of trapped gas and vapors. This is often vented through the roof of the building. To keep rain and other things from entering the vent system, builders use what is called a rain cap to protect the duct. We carry both type A and B rain caps in PVC duct – all sizes.

Our duct rain caps come in two styles. These are called style A and style B. A type caps feature a wide brim over the top of the cap with openings underneath that allow for quick escape of gas and vapors. This usually fits over the top of the lead duct that directs the vent through the roof.

Type B rain caps feature a more long and slender design and has a zero pressure loss feature. This style of cap serves a similar purpose, to keep rain and weather from entering the duct system. This cap has a belled end to accept duct pipe of the same size. As with all duct PVC, this rain cap has a 140 F maximum operating temperature.
