Sch 40 PVC Crosses
Schedule 40 PVC cross fittings are not quite as common as other fittings, but they are designed for use when joining four pipe sections or dividing flow in different directions. This could be done in plumbing and irrigation systems. Cold water transport, such as in irrigation or aquaculture, is a common use of Schedule 40 crosses as well. These crosses may be used when building framework using Schedule 40 PVC pipe. All of these crosses are made from durable, yet affordable Schedule 40 PVC to provide strength and support to the system or construction project.
Max temperature 140 F. Max pressure varies based on fitting size. Our schedule 40 crosses (excluding class 125) meet standards ASTM D-1784, ASTM D-2466/2467, NSF/ANSI 14 & 61.

Crosses have four slip connections that meet at 90 degree angles. Diameters from 1/2 inch to 4 are found here, and larger diameters can be purchased when needed. Crosses can either have four connections with the same diameter or two connections with one diameter and two connections with a smaller diameter. The first configuration is commonly seen in construction of frameworks as well as general plumbing and piping projects, while this second configuration is common when mixing two lines into one.
These crosses offer all of the benefits of Schedule 40 PVC. One of these benefits is the affordability of the fittings. Another benefit is the relative durability of the Schedule 40 PVC material. While Schedule 40 crosses cannot withstand temperatures above 140 degrees or high pressures, they do resist corrosion well. The material is not harmed by acids or salts, and PVC is also non-conductive. This means these crosses can be utilized in underground applications where soil, fertilizer and pesticides could create problems for metal pipes, or in applications involving corrosive chemicals being transported at a lower temperature.
This resistance to chemical corrosion also means that PVC crosses only need to be replaced every seven to 15 years, rather than every year with many types of metal pipes. For applications where durability and affordability are important, but high temperatures or pressures are not an issue, Schedule 40 PVC crosses are a good fit.
