When PVC was first created by Eugen Baumann in the 1800's, there wasn't a big concern about what it looked like. This versatile material is on its own very brittle and hard to work with. Over the years, people learned what additives allowed PVC to be molded into useful things like the pipe and fittings we use today. Since PVC entered the piping scene long ago, there have been many changes in how it's used and who is using it.
