DIY PVC Football Field Goal
We are so excited that our Carolina Panthers made it to the Super Bowl this year! We wanted to share simple Super Bowl décor idea that you can easily make – a decorative field goal post made out of PVC pipe and fittings.
This DIY field goal post only requires a few items and you can use to it to set up a game of paper football at your Super Bowl 50 party.

To make your own miniature football field goal post, you will need the following (all 1/2" PVC Pipe):
- • Measuring Tape
- • Pipe Cutter Tool
- • Marker
- • 5 – 4 inch pieces of ½” PVC Pipe
- • 2 – 1.5 inch pieces of ½” PVC Pipe
- • 2 – 2 inch pieces of ½” PVC Pipe
- • 2 – 6 inch pieces of ½” PVC Pipe
- • 6 – ½” End Caps
- • 4 – ½” Tee Fittings
- • 2 – ½” 90 Degree Elbows
How to Make a Mini Football Field Goal Post
- Using the measuring tape, mark the ½” PVC Pipe to cut the different length of pieces needed.
- Using the pipe cutter tool, cut the pieces at markings as needed.
- To assemble the field post goal, you will use 2 pieces of 6” long pipe, 2 pieces of 1 ½” long pipe, 1 piece of 4” long pipe, 2 end caps, 2 elbows and 1 tee fitting.
- Place the 2 end caps on one end of each of the 2 pieces of 6” long pipe.
- Place 2 elbows on the other end of each of the 2 pieces of 6” long pipe.
- Connect the 1 piece of the ½” long pipe each of the elbows.
- Connect both parts to each of the sides of the tee fitting.
- Connect the 4” long piece to the tee fitting. You should see the shape of the top of the field goal post.
- To assemble the stand for the field post, you will need 4 pieces of the 4” long pipe, 2 pieces of the ½” long pipe, 4 end caps and 3 tee fittings.
- Place the 2 end caps on one end of each of the 2 pieces of 4” long pipe.
- Connect 2 tee fittings on the other end of each of the 2 pieces of 4” long pipe.
- Connect 2 pieces of 4” long pipe to the each of the other ends of 2 tee fittings.
- Place 2 end caps on the other end of each of the 2 pieces of 4” long pipe.
- Connect 2 of the ½” long pieces to each of the tee fittings.
- Lastly, connect a tee fitting to each of the ½” long pieces. Twist the tee fitting so the empty end faces upward so you can connect the top of the field goal post.
- Connect the bottom 4” long piece of pipe from the top portion of the field goal post to the tee fitting of the bottom portion.
- Boom! Now you have the perfect field goal post to play a game of paper football at your Super Bowl 50 party! Go Panthers! #KeepPounding
