EPDM

We sell a wide range of CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) valves because CPVC is a tougher material than regular PVC. The primary difference between these materials is their temperature rating. CPVC can handle temperatures up to 200F (93C) while PVC can only handle 140F (60C). To many users, this is a significant distinction. Our CPVC swing check valves are available with two different O-ring materials: EPDM and Viton. EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is a tough rubber that provides a reliable seal up to 150psi in these swing check valves.

Our CPVC EPDM swing check valves are industry-grade and perfect for when you want fluid passing only one way through a system with minimal pressure drop through a valve. These valves are industrial-style, which means they have a thicker body, can handle higher pressures, and have stainless steel hardware. They can be easily disassembled for maintenance and cleaning, which is great when working with certain materials. Many of these valves are available with optional flange attachments, which allow them to be integrated into any piping network, not just PVC systems.

Swing check valves are one of many different types of check valves. Swing check valves are ideal for applications where flow pressure is vital. These valves feature a disk that swings (hence the name) on a hinge. This disk swings open if fluid is passing through the valve in the desired direction. If fluid tries to pass through the opposite direction, the disk is pushed closed, prohibiting any backflow. The main distinction between swing check valves and other check valves is the fact that when fluid is passing through a swing check valve, the disk moves almost entirely out of the way. This means that flow is hardly interrupted at all. This is an important fact for anyone who needs to maintain high pressure in a system.

EPDM stands for ethylene propylene diene monomer and is a common rubber, often found in O-rings like the ones in these valves. It is so common because it has such utility and strength. It resists just about any type of corrosion, including the weathering, ozone, and UV ray exposure. These attributes makes EPDM and these swing check valves perfect for industrial applications.
