This is the fourth DIY holiday craft project in our series of holiday inspired PVC crafts! This ornament project is simple, easy and inexpensive.
Our simple DIY Christmas ornaments project only requires a handful of inexpensive materials and takes very little time to complete.
You can decorate your PVC snowman ornaments using a variety of different types of ribbon to add character and personality to each of your snowmen. Depending on how large you want to make unique DIY Christmas ornaments, it will require three different sizes of PVC pipe to create the shape of the snowmen.
To make these PVC snowmen ornaments, you will need the following:
- PVC Pipe of 3 different diameters (We used 5” pipe, 1.25”pipe and 1” pipe)
- Hand Saw/Miter Saw
- White Spray Paint
- Different Types of Ribbon (Some will be used to create a scarf and some will be used to hang the ornament)
- Scissors
- Super Strength Glue
How to Make DIY Snowmen Ornaments
- Mark the three different sized PVC pipe at ¾” long pieces. You will need one piece of each different size to make one snowmen so mark as many as you plan on making. We made three of the PVC snowmen.
- Cut the PVC pipe into ¾” long pieces. Clean off any excess plastic sheddings.
- Place the cut pieces of PVC pipe on something that is safe to spray paint on, such as a scrap piece of cardboard.
- Using the white spray paint, paint all of the cut pieces of PVC pipe on one side. Allow to fully dry. Flip the painted pieces and spray paint the other side.
- Form the shapes of the snowmen ornaments by placing the largest diameter piece on the bottom, the middle sized piece in the middle and the smallest piece at the top. Glue each of the pieces to each other. Allow the glue to fully dry.
- Using a decorative piece of ribbon, create a scarf for your snowman ornament. Wrap the scarf around the snowman’s neck between the smallest piece and middle piece of pipe.
You can simply tie the ribbon around.
You can use glue on the ribbon as needed for it to stay secure.
- Using another type of ribbon, create a loop around the top of the snowman ornament to be able to hang it up on a tree.
- Hang your unique PVC snowmen ornaments on your Christmas tree and enjoy!
