DIY PVC Pipe Wreath

A PVC pipe wreath can be a fun DIY craft project that will end with a unique outdoor décor item for your front door this holiday season. This DIY wreath project mainly consists of cut pieces of PVC pipe, as well as a few other items that can be found at your local hardware store.

We chose to make our PVC wreath gold, but you can change up the look of yours by choosing a different color of spray paint.

How to Make a PVC Wreath

  1. Before cutting the PVC pipe, choose the height/length you would like your DIY wreath to be. This should be anywhere between 2 to 3.5 inches. Each piece should be a the same height/length. Using pipe of 1 to 4.5 inches in diameter, plan on using a consistent amount of the same size diameters works best for creating a more symmetrical shaped wreath.
  2. Mark the pipe at the chosen height/length at the spot where you plan on cutting it. Using a miter saw, cut the PVC pipes of 1 to 4.5 inches in diameter to all the same length/height.pvc-pipe-for-wreath
  3. With the gold metallic spray paint, paint all of the pieces of PVC pipe on the inside and outside. Allow the pieces to fully dry. Turn dried pieces and paint the bottom side of the pieces. Allow to fully dry.diy-wreath-ideas
  4. Create the layout of the PVC pipe Christmas wreath by arranging the cut pieces. You can a 6 inch bowl or round object to place in the middle to make it easier to arrange the pieces. Make sure to place 2 inch diameter pieces where the chain will eventually go, which is approximately at the 2 o’clock and 10 o’clock positions of the wreath.
  5. After arranging the pieces of PVC, mark the pipes with a pencil to designate where each piece comes in contact with another piece to help you apply the glue in the right place.
  6. Using the epoxy glue or an alternative adhesive, glue the pieces of PVC pipe to each other first to begin creating your DIY wreath. Continuing to follow the layout you created and the markings, glue each piece of PVC pipe that touches to each other until the entire layout is complete. Allow to fully dry overnight.pvc-wreath-diy
  7. Check the size of the screws that will be used to attach the knobs. Using your drill, drill a hole in each piece where the chain will be attached that match the size of the screws.wreath-diy
  8. Use the knobs to attach the chain to the wreath by screwing them into the drilled holes.
