Metal butterfly valves are a type of flow control device used to regulate the flow of liquids, gases, and slurries in a wide range of industrial applications. Made of durable metal materials like cast iron, carbon steel, and stainless steel, these versatile valves consist of a metal disc or vane mounted on a rotary shaft inside a cylindrical body. When the vane is parallel to the flow, the valve is fully open. When the vane is perpendicular, the valve is fully closed. Rotating the vane to an intermediate angle allows precise regulation and throttling of the flow rate.
