A reducing elbow is exactly what the name says it is: and elbow that reduces. This 2" x 1-1/2" Schedule 40 Reducing Elbow has two slip ends that reduce from 2" to 1-1/2". Reducing fittings are used to join two pre-existing pipelines or to increase pressure in a pipeline by reducing the size. The elbow design allows the user to change pipeline flow direction, which can be extremely useful when piping in tight spaces. Schedule 40 PVC is not rated for use in hot water applications
