Clear PVC Fittings

Most PVC / CPVC fittings, pipes and valves are white, black, gray or other colors, which prohibit the user from seeing what's inside. In many applications, this is fine, but sometimes the ability to see the liquid inside the pipe is important. This may be in laboratory settings, food prep situations, DIY projects, around the home work or any system where mold / microbial growth is dangerous. For these scenarios, clear PVC pipe is the perfect solution! Browse our inventory of pipe & fittings below. Call 866-777-7990 if you can't find what you're looking for.

Clear PVC pipe is fully transparent, allowing the user to see what is inside. It has a slight blue tint, so it is not technically completely clear, but this tint is not enough to limit visibility. It has been FDA-approved to use with food contact, so it can be used in cafeterias, restaurants and factories that create food products. It can also be cold-sterilized in ethylene oxide for research laboratories. Sometimes, those setting up PVC systems will use a length of clear PVC at different points within a system to allow a window into the flow and to check for mold or microbial growth inside the piping. In other applications, such as in research or laboratory settings, the entire system may be made from PVC.

Clear PVC pipe functions as normal PVC. It can be installed using regular PVC adhesives and can be used with standard couplings, unions, valves and other fittings. The main difference between the two is that clear PVC tubing allows visibility of what is inside, while traditional PVC does not. It can be rated for both Schedule 80 and Schedule 40 PVC systems. UV resistant options are available. This type of PVC is useful in the transportation of liquids and food products, but it is not recommended for transporting compressed air or gases. Clear PVC tubing is also available, and this is commonly used in aquariums, medical facilities and similar applications.
