Fitting Types Available

90° and 45° Elbows change the direction of a duct run. Available in both angles across all stocked sizes with belled socket ends.

Wyes (45°) split a single duct run into two branches at a 45° angle. Used for combining or distributing airflow across multiple hoods or collection points.

Tees create a 90° branch off the main duct run. Useful where a perpendicular branch connection is needed.

Couplings and Reducer Couplings join two straight sections of duct. Reducer couplings transition between different duct diameters within a system.

Socket Flanges and Blind Flanges provide bolted connections for equipment hookups, access points, and system terminations. Socket flanges connect to duct via solvent weld. Blind flanges seal off unused openings.

Butterfly Dampers regulate or shut off airflow within the duct system. Installed inline to balance airflow between branches or isolate sections for maintenance.

Blastgates provide quick on/off airflow control at individual pickup points. A sliding gate opens or closes the duct opening without affecting the rest of the system.

Caps and Rain Caps terminate duct runs. Standard caps seal the end of a run, while rain caps (available in Style A and Style B) protect outdoor exhaust terminations from weather.

Why CPVC Duct Instead of PVC Duct

PVC duct fittings are rated for temperatures up to 140°F and work well for general-purpose exhaust and ventilation at ambient or mildly elevated temperatures. CPVC duct extends that range to 200°F, which makes it the required choice when the exhaust stream carries heat from chemical reactions, heated tanks, plating baths, ovens, or other high-temperature processes. CPVC also offers improved fire resistance compared to standard PVC, which can be a requirement in certain industrial and institutional settings.

Both materials are corrosion resistant, lightweight, and non-conductive. If your exhaust temperatures stay below 140°F, PVC duct is the more economical option. When temperatures exceed that threshold or fire resistance is a design consideration, CPVC is the right material.

The non-metallic construction eliminates concerns about corrosion from acid vapors, chlorine gas, and other aggressive chemicals that would degrade metal ductwork over time.

Installation Notes

CPVC duct fittings connect with belled socket ends using CPVC solvent cement. Apply primer to both the pipe exterior and the fitting socket, followed by CPVC cement. Assemble with a slight twist and hold until the initial set takes hold. All joints should be sealed to prevent air leakage and maintain system efficiency. Support duct runs with hangers that provide a broad bearing surface to avoid point loading on the pipe. Concentrated loads from hoods, dampers, fans, and other equipment should be independently supported rather than hanging from the duct itself. Allow for thermal expansion in long runs, as CPVC expands more than metal ductwork at elevated temperatures.
