EPDM Seals

True union ball valves are available in several different seal materials. The seals in a ball valve are wetted, meaning they come into contact with the liquid media running through the valve. Our PVC True Union Ball Valves with EPDM seals give you complete control of a pipeline. Ball valves are a quarter-turn valve that allows complete shut-off and opening of the valve. They can also be opened slightly for customized flow regulation.

The seating in one of these valves is a sphere with a cylindrical hole through its center. When the valve is in the “off” position, fluid hits the solid side of the sphere. When the handle is turned to the “on” position, fluid is allowed to pass through the hole in the sphere. This is ideal for a wide range of applications, from irrigation control to drinking water dispensing.

PVC is strong, yet inexpensive, with countless chemical resistances, making it ideal for transporting liquids of all kinds. It can also withstand a great deal of pressure and is rated for temperatures up to 140F (60C). The seals in these particular ball valves are wetted, which means they come in contact with the fluid traveling through the valve. The EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) seals in these ball valves are high-quality, but low cost, with many of the same chemical resistances as PVC itself.

“True Union” is a term that is used for many PVC valves. It refers to the 3-part construction of the valve body. The ends can be unscrewed from the middle, allowing for easy maintenance and removal from a pipeline. This also means that any valve can have threaded ends, socket ends, or a combination of both. True union valves are easy to clean or fix, with disassembly and reassembly being extremely simple. Find the exact valve you need on PVC Fittings Online!
