PVC Wafer Check Valves

Wafer check valves, which can also be called dual-plate valves, are a smaller alternative to some of the other PVC valves we offer. These have a disc that rotates on a shaft to open or close the valve, thus stopping and starting low. These plates are held in place with a torsion spring when the valve is in the "off" position. As other check valves, these valves are designed to prevent back flow. When fluid flows toward them in the forward direction, the pressure of the fluid causes them to swing open, and flow is allowed. As soon as the flow stops, the wafer check valve closes automatically. This prevents any flow from returning to the system.

Wafer check valves perform the same basic function as swing check valves, but in a smaller size. Wafer check valves are slim and do not take up much space in the system. This makes them ideal for situations where a valve is needed, but the system has little room for the valve to be installed. The valves simply slip between flanges to be installed simply, without the need for gaskets. A sticker on the side of the valve clearly shows the intended direction of flow. We stock wafer check valves in sizes from 4 inches to 8 inches, but additional sizes may be available through special order.

Wafer check valves can be used in any situation requiring a check valve but with limited space and the presence of two flanges. These valves are made from durable PVC, so they can withstand exposure to the elements as well as potentially corrosive liquids. They also withstand the corrosion from soil elements, so they can be used in underground applications. This makes them ideal for outdoor applications, like use in pumps in irrigation or aquaculture systems. Waver check valves also can be used indoors in manufacturing applications and laboratories as well.
