Mark Ligon |

In a world full of tiny homes and apartments, finding ways to maximize your space has become an ever increasing need. One place everyone needs help being more organized in is the bathroom—no matter how big your home seems to be. PVC piping could be the solution you’ve been looking for to maximize your bathroom space and tidy up cluttered areas.

We’ve listed some of our favorite and simplest ways to use PVC to help organize your bathroom, including:

     1. Toothbrush Holder
     2. Hair Styling Tool Organizer
     3. Razor Holder
     4. Toilet Paper Holder

Keep reading to bring order to a disorganized bathroom.

Toothbrush Holder

One thing we all need, and that takes up a surprising amount of counter space, is a toothbrush. Try out this nifty and easy-to-make toothbrush holder. This frees up space on your counter top as you can hang the holder on the wall or even on the inside of your bathroom cabinet door.

Toothbrush Holders for Under Sink

Supplies

1” PVC Pipe
1” PVC Cap
Command hooks (try these)
1” PVC Pipe Cutter or 2” PVC Pipe Cutter

Steps

Step 1: Cut the PVC into 4.25” sections.

Step 2: Place end cap on one end of PVC pipe.

Step 3: Decorate your PVC however you would like. (Our favorite decorating supplies are spray paint, washi tape, and glitter!)

Step 4: On the opposite end of the cap, drill a hole into one side of the pipe, about ½” from the top.

Step 5: Place command hook where you would like to hang your toothbrush holder.

Step 6: Place holder on hook and enjoy your new free counter spaces.

Step 7: You can also do the same thing with 2” PVC pipe so you can place your toothpaste next to your toothbrush.

Hair Styling Tool Organizer

If you’ve ever attempted to style your hair, you know that there are many products you might need. Some of the most space-consuming can be styling tools such as blow dryers, curling irons, and straighteners. Below we’ve listed two different options to give you storage for your styling tools.

Counter Top Holder

This one is super simple! All you need is to buy a PVC wye (we recommended this one) and decorating supplies. Place this on your counter top or in your cupboard to save precious countertop spaces.

Under the Counter Holder

A second option for your hair tools requires a few additional steps but saves both counter-top and cabinet space. These holster-type organizers attach to the cabinet door.

Slim PVC Pipe Pieces Used Under the Sink for Hair Tool Storage

Supplies

2” PVC Pipe
1 ½” PVC Pipe
Hook and Loop Tape (we recommend this one)
PVC Pipe Cutter

Steps

Step 1: Cut the 2” PVC pipe into 5” lengths for tool

Step 2: Cut the 1 ½” PVC pipe into 3” length for the cord.

Step 3: Use the hook and loop tape to bind the PVC to the door.

This would work for most standard curling irons and straighteners, but for a bigger barrel or for a blow dryer, you can use a bigger size pipe.

Please note that PVC is only rated to handle a max temperature of 140°F, so let your styling tools cool down before you place them in the holder.

Razor Holder

There is nothing more frustrating that being in the shower and having your shower accessories slide around everywhere. And nothing slides around more than razors. Try out this nifty razor holder to keep them in place.

Supplies

1” PVC Pipe
Zip Ties (try these)

Steps

Step 1: Cut the PVC to the length of 3”.

Step 2: Use the handsaw to put two ⅛” notches in both pipes.

Step 3: Use the zip ties to attach the PVC to the shower caddy. Cut excess zip tie length off the end when done.

Toilet Paper Rolls Organized in Rows with Short Lengths of PVC Piping

Toilet Paper Holder

For as much time as humans spend in bathrooms, you would think they’d have figured out a better design by now. Sometimes there just isn’t a good space to place your toilet paper. If you’ve been caught with a lack of toilet paper before, try out this super easy PVC toilet paper holder.

Supplies

¾” PVC Pipe
¾” 5 Way Tee

Steps

All you have to do for this one is cut it to size (about 18”) and then place the Pipe into the Tee. Place the caps on all the ends for a nice, clean finish.
