Use and Care

Maintain peak performance by caring for your MC720’s pH probe. The most common causes of reduced accuracy are degradation of the glass sensing bulb and blockage of the reference junction from dried-out storage or sample contamination.

Sensing Bulb

The glass bulb naturally loses sensitivity over time and eventual replacement is normal for all pH probes.

Reference Junction

A clogged junction prevents accurate readings. Prevent buildup by regular cleaning and proper storage.

Storage

Always keep the probe hydrated with MA9015 storage solution. If unavailable, use tap water briefly and never use distilled or reverse osmosis water, as this will damage sensitivity. Store the cap filled with storage solution and keep the probe upright to prevent leakage.

Cleaning

To maintain accuracy, regularly soak the probe in MA9016 cleaning solution for about 20 minutes, especially after exposure to samples high in organic material.

Calibration

pH bulbs become less responsive with time. Calibrate your Milwaukee PRO pH controller routinely, and always after cleaning or extended storage, for consistent, precise results.
