This is the third installment of DIY holiday season craft series! This project is extremely simple and inexpensive, but it can help you add some holiday sprinkle in your home.
When it comes to holiday décor in your home, the dining room can really help you set the tone of Christmas cheer. Simple decorative items and small details in your dining room can help you make your dining room spectacularly decorated.
Holiday themed place settings, plates and napkins help you create the holiday mood in your dining room. For an extra holiday touch, we created decorative DIY gold holiday napkin rings. These homemade napkin rings for Christmas only require a few materials and are simple to make.
To make DIY holiday napkin rings, you will need the following items:
- 1 ¼” PVC Pipe
- Gold Spray Paint
- Handsaw/Miter Saw
- Holiday Decorative Embellishments
- Wire Cutter (optional)
- Super Strength Glue
- Cloth Napkins
How to Make Christmas Napkin Rings
- Before cutting the 1 ¼” PVC Pipe, you have to decide how thick you would like your Christmas napkin rings to be and how many you will be making. We chose to make ours about 1 inch thick. After you decide this, mark off the pipe to the thickness you have decided on.
- Cut the pieces of pipe using a hand saw or miter saw at the marked spots. Clean off any excess plastic debris.
- Place the cut pieces of pipe on cardboard or something that is safe to get paint on.
- Using the gold spray paint, paint the pieces of pipe on one side. Allow to fully dry.
- Flip the pieces of pipe over to paint the other side. Paint the other side using the gold spray paint. Allow to fully dry.
- Gather the holiday decorative embellishments you chose. There are a variety of choices for this that can be found at any local arts and crafts store such as Michael’s. We chose some holiday themed floral berries that look similar to mistletoe.
The branches on these were a little longer than the holiday napkin rings, so we used a wire cutter to cut them to appropriate length.
- Using super strength glue, glue your decorative embellishment to the gold Christmas napkin rings.
Press down firmly and allow glue to fully dry.
- Fold your cloth napkins nicely to place inside your finished homemade Christmas napkin rings. Place them inside the rings.
- Place your DIY holiday napkin rings on your dining table to add an extra touch of Christmas!
